Dallas–Fort Worth, neighborhood by neighborhood

A steel entry for a new build in Prosper has almost nothing in common with a wrought iron door going into a 1920s Tudor in Highland Park. Here is how we approach the parts of the Metroplex we work in most.

Highland Park and University Park

Mostly replacements on established homes. The door has to sit inside existing masonry and respect a facade that predates it by ninety years. We measure the opening as built rather than assuming a standard size, and match the arch, transom or sidelight profile the house already has.

Preston Hollow and Lakewood

Large lots and wide entries, where double doors at 74″ × 97″ and pivot configurations carry the scale of the house without overwhelming it.

Southlake, Westlake and Colleyville

Custom builds with strict architectural review. We work from the approved elevation and provide the drawing and finish specification the committee asks for before anything is fabricated.

Frisco, Prosper and Plano

New construction at volume. This is where whole-house packages make sense: entry, interior steel, windows, patio doors and gates on one schedule, with one finish across all of it.

Fort Worth — Tanglewood, Rivercrest and Westover Hills

Built for North Texas weather

Dallas–Fort Worth asks more of an exterior door than most of the state. Summers over 100 degrees, hard freezes in winter, and swings of forty degrees inside a single week. Metal moves with heat, and a door that is not built for that movement binds in August and gaps in January.

Every door we make is formed in our own shop from 11-gauge steel — no filler, no hollow tube stock. The jamb and the slab are both filled with closed-cell polyurethane foam, and the glass is double tempered and insulated, which is what keeps a west-facing entry from turning into a heat source through the afternoon. Full perimeter weather stripping on the door and the glass frame, plus a sweep at the threshold, handles the wind-driven rain and dust that come with North Texas storms.

The finish is a polyurethane paint selected for resistance to UV, humidity and corrosion, available in Dark Copper, Copper, Pewter, Dark Bronze, Bronze and Black. Five years of warranty on the finish, and a lifetime structural warranty on what sits behind it.

What that adds up to in practice is a door that opens the same way in February and in August, and that does not need refinishing every couple of years the way wood does in this climate.

Working with DFW builders and architects

Most of what we deliver in Dallas–Fort Worth goes through a builder rather than direct to the homeowner. Send us the elevation and the door and window schedule, and we come back with a written estimate that has piece counts, finishes and lead time in it, ready to price into a bid package. How much does a custom iron door cost in Dallas?

Price depends on size, configuration, glass and hardware. A single door at the standard 38″ × 97″ sits at the low end; double doors at 74″ × 97″, pivots and custom arches move up from there. We quote from your actual opening rather than a catalog price, and the quote is free.

How long does it take?

Every door is made to order, so there is fabrication time after the design is approved and the opening is measured. You get the lead time in writing when the order is placed, which is what lets a builder put it in a schedule.

Do you install, or just supply the door?

We handle installation across the Metroplex. The jamb is set, shimmed and levelled, the slab is hung and adjusted, and the perimeter is sealed. On a replacement we take out the old unit as part of the job.

Will it pass architectural review in Southlake or Frisco?

Most committees in Southlake, Westlake, Frisco and Prosper want a drawing and a finish specification before they approve. We provide both before anything is cut, and we build to the approved elevation.

Is there a showroom in Dallas?
