Fort Worth, neighborhood by neighborhood
A wrought iron door going into a 1930s home in Ryan Place has almost nothing in common with a steel entry for a new build out in Walsh. Here is how we approach the parts of Fort Worth we work in most.
Westover Hills and Rivercrest
Established homes with facades that predate the door by decades. The work is mostly replacement, and it has to sit inside existing masonry and match the arch, transom or sidelight profile the house already has. We measure the opening as built rather than assuming a standard size.
Tanglewood, Monticello and Ryan Place
Traditional architecture where the ironwork has to read as original to the house rather than added later. Grid pattern and finish do most of that work — a wider, squarer grid in a dark bronze reads period; a tall narrow grid in black reads new.
Mira Vista and Montserrat
Larger entries and tall ceilings, where double doors at 74" × 97" and pivot configurations carry the scale of the house. Often paired with a matching driveway gate.
Aledo, Walsh and Willow Park
New construction on acreage, west of the city. This is where whole-house packages make sense: entry, windows, patio doors and gates on one schedule with one finish across all of it.
Clearfork and the TCU area
Newer infill and modern renovations, where minimal sightlines and large glass area are the whole point of choosing steel over wood.
Single entry, double entry and gates
Single entry doors
Our standard single is 38" × 97", and it is the right answer for most Fort Worth replacements. On a tighter lot or a narrower original opening, the door still has to carry the whole street presence of the house, so the design goes into the grid and the glass rather than the width.
Double entry doors
Standard double is 74" × 97". The inactive leaf gets two flush bolts top and bottom as part of the base specification — on cheaper units that leaf is the weak point of the whole entry.
Iron gates
Driveway gates, courtyard gates and ranch entrances are a large share of what we build west of Fort Worth. When the gate and the entry door come from the same shop, the grid pattern and the finish actually match, which is the part that falls apart when they are ordered from two suppliers a year apart. Security for existing french doors
A common request here: a rear or patio entry that needs to be secured without turning the back of the house into a fortress. A steel and glass unit with a tight grid gives you the light and the sightline, and the security is structural rather than a grille bolted over what you have.
Built for North Texas weather
Fort Worth asks a lot of an exterior door: summers over 100 degrees, hard freezes in winter, and swings of forty degrees inside a single week. Metal moves with heat, and a door that is not built for that movement binds in August and gaps in January.
Every door is formed in our own shop from 11-gauge steel — no filler, no hollow tube stock. Jamb and slab are filled with closed-cell polyurethane foam and the glass is double tempered and insulated, which is what keeps a west-facing entry from becoming a heat source through the afternoon. Full perimeter weather stripping on the door and the glass frame, plus a sweep at the threshold, handles the wind-driven rain and dust that come with North Texas storms.
The finish is a polyurethane paint selected for resistance to UV, humidity and corrosion, in Dark Copper, Copper, Pewter, Dark Bronze, Bronze and Black. Five years of warranty on the finish, and a lifetime structural warranty on what sits behind it.

How much does a custom iron door cost in Fort Worth?
Price depends on size, configuration, glass and hardware. A single door at the standard 38" × 97" sits at the low end; double doors at 74" × 97", pivots and custom arches move up from there. We quote from your actual opening rather than a catalog price, and the quote is free.
How long does it take?
Every door is made to order, so there is fabrication time after the design is approved and the opening is measured. You get the lead time in writing when the order is placed, which is what lets a builder put it in a schedule.
Do you install in Fort Worth, or just deliver?
We install across the Metroplex, Fort Worth and the western suburbs included. The jamb is set, shimmed and levelled, the slab is hung and adjusted, and the perimeter is sealed. On a replacement we take out the old unit as part of the job.
Can you match a gate to the door?
Yes, and it is the main reason to order both from one shop. Same grid pattern, same finish, same batch. Matching a gate to a door that was bought elsewhere a year earlier is possible but never exact.
Is there a showroom in Fort Worth?
